Miraj Islamic Centre

This fascinating centre is home to an extensive collection of museum-like displays featuring unique Islamic art pieces sourced from around the Muslim world, including places like Egypt, Syria, Iran, India, Iraq, Kashmir and Russia. Displays include meticulously hand-woven pictorial and bejewelled carpets, silk textiles and royal robes, jewellery, jewel-encrusted ceremonial objects, finely crafted weapons, marble pieces, Arabic calligraphy-engraved vases and miniature paintings, with experienced and passionate staff on hand to brief you on the history and origin of the pieces and the techniques used to make them.

With two properties in Abu Dhabi, the 100,000-square-foot flagship centre sits adjacent to the five-star Millenium Capital Gate Hotel, just 500 metres from Abu Dhabi’s iconic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. A stunning, world-class museum, this marina-side centre features a rooftop café with panoramic views of the iconic Emirates Palace hotel and the beautiful waters of the gleaming Arabian Gulf. The centre and its café are both open daily from 9am to 6pm and entrance is free. Don’t forget your phone as you’ll want to take photos.

Miraj Islamic Centre offers visitors a complimentary pick-up and drop-off service from their hotels, as well as welcome refreshments, including Arabic gahwa (cardamom coffee) and fresh dates to groups of over 50 guests.
