Loved for its thriving art and architecture scene, Saadiyat Island is Abu Dhabi’s cultural district, home to world-renowned institutions like the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Manarat Al Saadiyat and soon, the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi and Zayed National Museum. Designed by some of the greatest contemporary architects, these icons anchor a district where global culture and the Arabian Gulf collide.
But over and above Saadiyat Island attractions like galleries and grand designs, it still welcomes barefoot mornings on white-sand beaches and long afternoons at the Mamsha Al Saadiyat beachfront and Saadiyat Beach Club. It’s also one of the few places in the region where Hawksbill turtles nest in the wild – maybe you’ll spy them on a scuba diving adventure. So come for the culture, the coastline or both, and stay for the moments you’ll carry long after you leave.
Just a 15-minute drive from Abu Dhabi city centre and around 25 minutes from Zayed International Airport, Saadiyat Island is easily accessible by car or taxi via well-connected highways. There are also convenient transport links from nearby districts like Al Maryah Island and Al Reem Island, making day visits or resort stays seamless.

It’s also famous for its pristine beaches and luxury resorts, and for being one of the few places in the region where Hawksbill turtles nest in the wild.
Saadiyat Island is considered a premium destination in Abu Dhabi, with luxury hotels and high-end experiences. However, there are also public beaches, art spaces and cafes that cater to a range of budgets, making it accessible for both casual day-trippers and luxury travellers.
A taxi from Zayed International Airport to Saadiyat Island typically costs between AED 60 and AED 80, depending on traffic and exact drop-off location. The journey takes around 25 to 30 minutes.
Saadiyat’s main public beach is Kai Beach, a beautifully maintained stretch of shoreline with full amenities. During the week, entry typically costs AED 150 (including AED 50 food and beverage credit) for adults and AED 75 for children during the week, with prices increasing to AED 225–252 for adults and AED 100 for children on weekends and public holidays. If you want to visit Saadiyat Beach Club, a separate luxury venue on the island, day passes are also available there and include access to premium amenities like an infinity pool and restaurant. Prices vary based on the day and package.
